Arjun came to us on 31 September 2021, but Dayal Mukunda has known him since he was a little calf. He is from the same village as Airavat, and when they were one year old, they were thrown away since they didn't give milk. Dayal Mukunda Prabhu saw Arjun often and promised that when he would need it, we would take him in.
He is now 17 years old, which is incredibly old for a bull. As far as we know, he lived in ISKCON territory for most of his life, and everyone used to see him regularly, especially around the Mahaprasadam shop. Many devotees and tourists wanted to feed him, with good intentions but they gave him sweets and foods meant for humans. You can notice that his horns are not as strong and big as they could be, since he wasn't eating properly.
In the mid of August, one Mataji reached out to us several times because she was worried about Arjun. He had a damaged leg and couldn't move. That's why he also didn't get enough food or water. And it was a rainy season, so he couldn't hide anywhere and just stood in one place under pouring rain.
So facing a few difficulties we finally could take him home! We made a video about it, check our YouTube video (http://surl.li/bbrxd) . It has been 4 months since he has been with us. At first, he didn't eat that much since he was not used to so much food, but now he is eating well and we hope he gains weight. The best thing we can give him is a secure and safe place where he can heal.
Now he has a friend. It's our beautiful white cow Bhakti. They lick each other, and she likes to have an attention of such a wise mature bull. And Arjun is also happy, and his recovery is going faster because of this!
Everything animate or inanimate that is within the universe is controlled and owned by the Lord. One should therefore accept only those things necessary for himself, which are set aside as his quota, and one should not accept other things, knowing well to whom they belong.
